The misogynistic, sadistic, hysterical fever of the anti-abortion legislation is without peer in the developed world.
I highly recommend the newsletter "Abortion, Every Day", which tracks the evolution of bills, laws, and the intentional criminalization of abortions and miscarriages, state by state.
Criminalizing birth control is already gaining momentum.
This situation won't improve...the only solution is to vote out these legislators, pay attention to judicial elections, and back pro-choice candidates.
This article talks about the clinics and the law, but it does not tell men what, obviously, men don't understand. Hell, I didn't even understand it when I got pregnant in my late 30s. I had a natural miscarriage while at work. I rushed to my clinic and the doc, after a ultrasound that showed no fetus, asked when I wanted to schedule the follow-up. I didn't understand. What follow-up? I just wanted to go home and have a cry.. The doctor explained that I needed a D&C (abortion procedure) to remove the sac, the lining that the fetus was released from. If not, infection could set in and I could get very sick or die. I had no idea. I was emotionally a wreck and this was the last thing I wanted to do or think about, but every woman that ever gets pregnant and loses a fetus naturally or not, or it's rape, or the woman/girl can't take care of herself, much less a baby. In any and all cases, it's the same result. Women deserve this care. They need support not condemnation because like it or not, as soon as you realize you are pregnant, even if it's not even a peanut size yet, you feel responsible and afraid for it. It's a terrible thing, that men have no concept of, and yet they are making all of these draconian laws. It must change if we are to have a free society for everyone. Politics and religious beliefs cannot be part of healthcare laws. Healthcare must be private and must be left to each patient. Medicare must cover women's health costs and the ability to reproduce makes us women so it should be protected. So a girl decides to have an abortion when she's 16/17, if she gets good health care she may have 5 kids when she's old enough but I guarantee she will regret and make better choices or feel loss/anger if it was a fetus through rape. Men need to wake up to the harm they are doing to us.
In my idealistic mind, I was hoping to learn of union organizers collaborating with these doctors, and clinics. Imagine, if they were 'unionized' ... what would that look like?

It's hard to believe that things are so backwards.
