I know in Des Moines, Iowa the lowest paid hospital employees & caregivers are subject to non-compete agreements just the same as physicians are. These noncompete agreements keep low paid employees in poverty and effectively hold wages down for the low paid workers in cities & towns where there are often only one or two large employers in healthcare across an entire rural state. Noncompete stifle competition & it’s great they are being banned.

Jon Stewart interviewed FTC chair, Lina Khan, a few weeks ago on The Daily Show. She is very smart and very well spoken. A most impressive person. Good for Joe Biden for slotting her in that job!

This should have a huge impact on some areas of health care (not to mention other industries on which I'm less informed on potential consequences), on e.g kidney dialysis from what I read about before (in Matt Stoller's BIG publication, I believe), where vultures buy up clinics and leave many towns with only one option, inevitably resulting in poor care and no alternative without regular long distance travel that's required to survive. Everyone who works at the clinics must sign noncompete clauses, making it very difficult for doctors who would like to open a better clinic to do so and provide competition.

Banning these is a great move that should greatly improve many people's lives, not to mention hopefully force lazy and complacent businesses and industries that rely on them to do some actual work and adapt or go out of business.
